I'm happy today...

The first reason is something that happened a few days ago but came to my ears until Monday. "Thanks to the company Unkasoft, Luis and Belén won the prize for the business idea in the field of ICT (Information and Communication)" you can see further details here.

These two students from 5 th Telecommunications were talking to us for some time, investigating everything about the idea of Advertising Games. We’re proud of the work they did, and happy because the ICT award they won. See their gratitude is a pleasure, really welcome, congratulations. Anyhow, I will see if they could join us in the Mobile 3GSM World Congress, to see how the solution works in real life. Even as I asked them for their CVs. Salamanca this far, but I want to endorse or even hire them, as soon the finish their studies.

The second reason that I’m glad to hear about the campaign from Oxfam in Hardgame2 & Meristation. I like to see, we care about these Games for Change. From here to thanks DOID which has helped us to transmit it, but every time I am pleased to be a member.

New way to look for a job

I just received new invitations to join NotchUp in, and perhaps you ask yourself, What's that? . Well, I mean is new idea that would soon emulate services like Monster or Infojobs.

It’s a site where you have professional profile and which have access to recruiters and human resource companies. Now, it’s a beta version, through invitations.

Complete your professional profile is one of the most tedious thing, in this case allowing import, even from Linkedin and is quite fast.
Up to this point there is nothing new.

Well, the difference is that people want to interview you must pay for it. This is where gets interesting. How much? Well, You define it in your profile. In my case, that I’m masochistic and I don’t want to change my job - for peace of my partners-. All the payments system is based on Paypal, very well known if you use payments over the Internet.

It also has a service how serious is the interviewee so that interviewers can assess it, very important to ensure quality. And seems, Notchup mind the quality, because at least in the beta version, before giving me access the have validated my profile.

I guess that finding good team members is becoming more complicated, and that the services on the Internet to recruit staff will innovate day by day.

Oxfam Australia, games for change

Some time ago, Intermon Oxfam launched a serious game explaining us the problem of the refugee camps in Darfur.

The problem persists, and efforts to remind that problem continues. Oxfam
Australia joins games for change idea.

I think is worthy to dedicate some of our time to this initiative, it’s your option, 24 million people are displaced due to conflicts, and they have no option. In addition to the separated families from their homes, the situation in the camps is hard on them food and water, are not insured.

I still do not understand; why our governments are so fast regulating things like the digital canon, or the Spanish government spent 1,000 million euros in advertising last four years, instead mind the conflicts where people die are forgotten. The saddest is that I don’t believe any of the main politic parties in Spain nor your government, is going to worry about this, if you don’t help.

From here I want to thank Oxfam, their continue efforts to help those 24 million people.

Miracle of mobile internet access

This week w’ve received some very interesting data from whatjapanthinks.com. Mainly, it’s a survey gather in Japan by the end of 2007. The first key point is about how people jump into Internet from the mobile. The top-3 is:

1. Bookmark
2. Homepage
3. QR Codes
And the following positions we find the access by introduction of this URL and searchers. It surprises me greatly the level of use of QR codes, which are used rather than the searchers.
I mean soon we’ll have a quickly way to access to URLs on mobile in
Spain, or at least I heard whisper of war, I will not say anymore until next week.

Another thing that I call the attention is enormously effective in finding what you are looking on the mobile Internet. The 95.7% find easily what are looking for, or at least find it. I believe we’re changing the “I look for it in google when I’m at home" with a "let me look for it on the mobile." Only the lacks of good data fees are stopping the future.

In any case, I think QR codes are going to have a good future here, and we can download games or access sites easily from the mobile. I already have in mind to buy shirts with QR codes for the whole team, at least for Javier who is the most freak.

We’ve killed our boss... Don't say anything.

We’re back; starting this 2008 plenty of energy & challenges, hopefully none will resist. The New Year came with a cool idea of mobile marketing, which was used in the film No Digas Nada (Don't say anything), perfect for use with your boss and send it to your colleagues. As in the movie, erase all those people who make your life impossible. Those rich politicians, these posh people going to the gym, the caretaker controlling all your movements even when you go to the bath,…
You could download the application from here, remember, you need to have a mobile
with camera support -my father will not be able to download it in its mobile, for sure-.
I’ve already seen people in the office taking me pictures, so I must have died in several ways. Among us, I mean everyone at the office hate me, perhaps due to the impossible projects I found.

You can't lose this opportunity.
